

SUE
MURRAY
Sue Murray is an author and popular playwright
with a background in education and in the performing arts.
She has a Master of Arts in Creative Writing and a Diploma
of Education.
She is available
for talks and practical workshops in the following areas:
1. Primary
and secondary drama
Sue offers engaging talks and fun practical drama workshops for primary and
secondary schools.
  
She has written
over 30 short plays for schools. These have been published in
four collections: Big Dramas and Real
Dramas for secondary schools and Everybody In, Five
Primary Plays Book 1 and Book 2 for
younger drama lovers and their teachers. Schools across Australia
are reading and performing Sue's zany and challenging scripts
such as 'Sticks and Stones', 'Macbeth Inc,' and 'Scrambled Eggs'.
2004 sees
the publication of a full-length comedy for senior secondary
students, The Formal.
  
2. HSC
English and Drama - students and teachers
Sue offers workshops in scriptwriting, dialogue writing and the study of drama
texts for senior secondary students. In-service sessions for teachers can also
be arranged. As she says, 'scriptwriting is a specialist area requiring broad
knowledge of the art form and the craft of writing'.
Sue has been
a contributing writer to Macmillan's English Mosaic series
and to Macquarie Standard English. She has wide
experience as a playwright and performer and was a Projects Officer
at NIDA.
3. Year
12 Parents and students
Sue is the author of The Parents' Survival Guide to Year 12 and
is available to talk to parents and community groups on year 12 issues ranging
from study skills and stress management to schoolies week and the formal. Her
common sense guide gives practical tips and strategies to parents under pressure.
