WRITING
UNDER PRESSURE (HSC ASSESSMENT & EXAMINATION TASKS)
The
current HSC English syllabus requires students to write
assessment and examination tasks in different forms
- creative, interpretive and analytical.
In whatever form specified students must demonstrate their knowledge and understanding
of a particular text or texts, but they must also integrate issues and ideas
from other texts and explain the techniques used by composers to shape the
text's meaning.
This workshop is designed to help students deal with the many genres of writing
demanded of them in HSC. It will focus on the structures and features of feature
articles, speeches, transcripts of discussions and conversations, letters,
diary and journal entries, as well as analytical, discursive and explanatory
essays.
Students who attend this workshop will be well prepared to write in any form
required.
